Fundraising is a very important part of a charity organization being successful for a community. There are many ways to fundraise for a non profit organization however each orgainzation has bylaws that must be followed as well as federal laws that must be followed. It is unlawful to fundraise and collect money, contributions, and/or item donations as a representative of Askate Foundation.
It is unlawful to use Askate's trademark name to sell merchandise and collect the funds yourself. All fundraisers must be approved and proper forms must be filled out and abided by. Askate Foundation coordinates event dates, postpone dates, and all administrative duties regarding an event. Fundraising or coordinating a fundraiser for a non profit does not give said persons the right to delegate how funds are used or the right to organize an event on Askate's behalf.
There are many great people in this world but there are also people in this world who take advantage of others and charities. Volnuteers interested in coordinating a fundraiser must have fundraiser approvel proir to using Askate's trademark to recruit supporters and funds. Legal paperwork is required to be filled out prior to involvement.
Askate survives from community support and fundraising. Askate is a 501c3 organization that abides by federal and internal laws and bylaws. Participant count has to be met before funding is allowed to be spent. When 6 participants are registered 2 weeks prior to an event it must be postponed. There is no justifying spending a fundraising goal on an event that does not meet the participant count required for any specific event.
Unfortunately sometimes this can upset volunteers who have put in effort helping fundraise for a program or event to be activated. Askate has a very educated administrative and event planning team who must follow procedures. If an event must be postponed for any reason please understand that this does not mean an event will not happen. It means that it will need to happen at a later date. Many times we are able to proceed with the scheduled event with less resources and activate the Askate event on the rescheduled date.
