If your child does not have Autism please do not sign them up for a clinic. You are taking away from another child on the autism spectrum that could benefit from Askate's program. A clinic will quickly triple in size which we would not be able to accommodate, but more importantly Askate's program is not to have a "fun day skateboarding". It is to provide a sensory friendly environment to children with autism so that they can succeed with an active sport offering therapeutic benefits similar to occupational therapy. Thank you for understanding!
SIBLINGS - Siblings are always welcome to attend our events with their families! We do our best to work with the siblings at our events when we have enough volunteers to do so. Help your kids out be spreading the word of an event you plan to attend and ask for people you know to come out and volunteer at the event! Otherwise, please do not speak 'badly' of Askate Foundation when your child with autism is able to participate but his 4 siblings weren't. We can only do what we are able to with the manpower that shows up to volunteer. We have children with autism as well as children who do not have autism and we understand how the siblings are often times 'left out' of events for children with autism. However, we also understand how our neurotypical children are able to go to birthday parties, play on team sports, and go to sleep overs and our children with autism are 'left out'. Thank you for understanding!
